How it works
- Pick your class — Choose your syllabus, class and medium. That’s all the setup there is.
- Study 10 a day — Today’s 10 mixes cards you’re about to forget with new ones. Ten minutes a day keeps every chapter fresh.
- Practise like the exam — Attempt model papers with a real timer, then check your answers against model answers and marking points.
Everything you need to revise
- Smart flashcards — Tap to flip and rate yourself. Cards you find hard come back sooner; the ones you know wait longer.
- Today’s 10 — A ready-made daily session, so you never have to wonder where to start.
- Quizzes that explain — Multiple-choice quizzes that make you think — and an “Explain why” when you get one wrong.
- Model question papers — Exam-pattern papers with a timer, model answers, marking points and a print / PDF option.
- Exam countdown — Set your exam date and get a daily target, plus a revision day just before the exam.
- Daily streaks — Keep your streak going every day — with a freeze for the day you miss.
- Read & revise — Long-answer cards with step-by-step solutions, diagrams and formulas.
- Progress everywhere — Sign in and your progress, streak and bookmarks follow you to any phone or computer.
Backed by learning science
StudyWithSmile is built on two of the best-researched ways to learn: testing yourself, and spacing your practice over time.
- Test yourself, don’t just re-read — Students who practised recalling what they had read remembered more two days and a week later than students who simply re-read it — even though re-reading felt better at first. Every flip and every quiz question is a small self-test. (Roediger & Karpicke (2006), Psychological Science, 17(3), 249–255; Karpicke & Roediger (2008), Science, 319(5865), 966–968)
- Space it out, don’t cram — Spreading study over separate sessions helps you remember for longer than doing it all at once. In a flashcard study, spacing beat cramming for 90% of learners — yet 72% believed cramming had worked better. Cards come back just before you would forget them, and Today’s 10 does the planning. (Cepeda, Pashler, Vul, Wixted & Rohrer (2006), Psychological Bulletin, 132(3), 354–380; Kornell (2009), Applied Cognitive Psychology, 23(9), 1297–1317)
- Beat the forgetting curve — We forget fastest in the first hours and days after learning, then more slowly — and reviewing again on later days makes memories last. This was first measured in 1885 and confirmed again in 2015. Cards you know wait longer before coming back; cards you find hard return sooner. (Ebbinghaus (1885), Memory: A Contribution to Experimental Psychology (English translation, 1913); Murre & Dros (2015), PLoS ONE, 10(7), e0120644)
Scientists reviewed 10 popular study techniques. Only two earned a “high utility” rating: practice testing and spaced practice. Highlighting and re-reading were rated low. Both of the top-rated techniques are built into StudyWithSmile. (Dunlosky, Rawson, Marsh, Nathan & Willingham (2013), Psychological Science in the Public Interest, 14(1), 4–58)
